Driver trenino bernina

From Lake Como to St. Moritz

Wine Tasting & Bernina Express

A day to discover the most beautiful mountains near Lake Como. Have you ever heard of Bernina’s famous red train?

A unique experience in a dreamlike atmosphere, accompanied by a wine tasting experience among the vineyards of Valtellina.

Your day begins on board our 7-seater Mercedes V-Class Minivan that will pick you up directly from your accommodation.

The first stop will be at the Balgera winery where the winery’s experts will be waiting for you ready to guide you on informative tours and taste experiences.

Afterwards our minivan will take you to lunch in a typical Valtellina restaurant: bresaola, sciatt and pizzoccheri!

The most eagerly awaited event is scheduled for the early afternoon; we will reach the town of Tirano, where you will take the Bernina red train to St. Moritz, the pearl of the Swiss Alps.

The Bernina Express is known as the most beautiful train in the world, or as the “train that climbs the mountain”.

Facing gradients of 70 per thousand, in fact, it almost reaches the sky, at an altitude of 2,253 meters, the highest point reached by a train in Europe.

The Bernina Red Train drags along its entire route, surprising at every bend, opening onto ever-changing scenarios, from village streets to immense meadows, from Italy to Switzerland, from the plains to the mountains, from green pastures to eternal glaciers, giving our view a fairytale landscape.

The start is, as previously mentioned in Tirano, on Italian soil and the arrival in St. Moritz, on Swiss soil.

In the middle is a dreamlike landscape in every season, where you can reach the 2253 meters of altitude of the Bernina Hospice Refuge with a view of the glaciers at 4,000 meters.

The Bernina Red Train, inaugurated in 1910 and considered a true miracle of early twentieth-century engineering, takes three hours to travel about a hundred kilometers in length: it has to overcome deep gorges, climb steep slopes and climb over high mountain passes.

The train crosses a total of 55 tunnels and crosses 196 bridges and bridges  and the landscape is a succession of emotions: the view of the Bernina massif and the Morteratsch glacier, the three lakes Lej Pitschen, Lej Nair and Lago Bianco, Alp Grüm and the helical viaduct of Brusio.

Your train journey ends in St. Moritz, a Swiss municipality of 4,945 inhabitants in the canton of Graubünden, in the Maloja region and a popular winter and summer tourist destination in the Alps.

A spa town, which develops around its magnificent lake and has always been a luxury destination where you can have fun and regenerate.

Waiting for you is the Via Serlas, a small shopping paradise, the famous Engadine nut cake and a high-end gastronomy.

In the middle of the afternoon we return by minivan to Lake Como bringing in our hearts so much wonder and a unique experience.

Our tour, organized in collaboration with a tour operator, can be customized according to your needs.
